This is my grandmother, she resides in Taipei. Shes the one that let me in the kitchen to cook, and experiment. When I was 9, I tried to bake my first cake in a microwave oven, because a typical chinese kitchen did not have an oven that came with a stove. Well the microwave gave out some sparks, and the cake taste like cardboard, and she was a good sport about it and said you just need to add some sugar! She was sweet, I love her and miss her tremendously. She was the first person to teach me how to crush and peel garlic using a knife. And her BBQ spareribs is legendary in our household.
